Four Steps to start Hosting Israeli Travellers

1) REGISTER A USERNAME

Your USERNAME will be public so make it a pseudonym or a nickname or your pet’s name. Do NOT use your real name – we want to keep you safe.

This USERNAME cannot be changed so please be wise.

2) VERIFY YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS

Go to your email inbox (or spam folder) and check for an email from WordPress. Tap on MANAGE ACCOUNT to verify your email address.

If you do not receive this email, please contact us.

3) CREATE a personal profile

Back on the website, tap on the PROFILE icon in the menu. To keep you safe, please add only vague details to your profile. Use an avatar* or back-view or silhouette photo or a photo of your pet because this photo and information may be public.

4a) LIST YOUR HOME / SERVICE

Now tap on your profile photo and MY LISTINGS | ADD LISTING. Fill in the form by adding only basic, vague details. 37-68% complete is satisfactory.

Please ignore all irrelevant questions.
BUSINESSES offering a discount – only fill in the SERVICE box.
SOCIAL HOSTING – ignore all the accommodation questions.

Do NOT add your street address – only add city/province/country

You are not a host or service until you complete this step.

4c) Check/amend your Profile/Listings

4c) Multiple categories^ or locations?

Do you have a summer house, or perhaps your business can offer a discount? Go to MY LISTINGS and ADD NEW for each category or location:

^ There are now 12 ways to interact with Israelis (See blog “12 Ways” for an explanation for each of the types). Hosting in your home (Private Hosting) is just one way. If you can do more than one category, go to MY LISTINGS | ADD NEW for each location/category.

Eg. I can do “Private Hosting” and “Social Hosting”. Plus I can offer “Work in return for food & board”. I would also love to do “House Swapping”. Plus, my business can offer a discount to Israelis (called a “Service”). Therefore, I have ADDED 5 LISTINGS.

5) BE PROACTIVE

Don’t wait for Israelis to contact you! Join* the HIT Facebook group and start proactively inviting Israelis to stay with you!

Israelis are doing posts about their travels. Regularly scroll through the posts, inviting Israelis to your home/service – even if they are not coming to your area/country.

*Once you tap on JOIN, please contact Omri and tell him you are a host/service, just listed through the HIT website.
